We are very pleased to announce that Albury Wodonga Aquatic Facilities will be running the annual Albury Wodonga Mother’s Day Classic for the first time in 2019.
The Mother’s Day Classic is Australia’s largest breast cancer research fundraiser, and for the past 11 years, Albury Wodonga has shown they are keen to get on board in the fight against a disease that impacts 1 in 8 women. Albury Wodonga Aquatic Facilities recognise the importance of the Mother’s Day Classic and the tradition it has become for many local families; therefore, we are excited to see this event continue.
In 2018, $2.1 million was raised by 100,000 supporters at 87 events around Australia, including all capital cities and 78 regional events, this amount takes the total amount donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation to $35.3 million over 21 years.
Let’s make this year even bigger, as we continue to raise vital funds for breast cancer research. Enter our 5km run or walk around Sumsion Gardens and enjoy a morning of entertainment and delicious food.
The official event kicks off at 10am, with on the day registrations starting from 8am and pre-event entertainment from 9am. There will be face painting for the kids, as well as local food from Happy Cat Donuts, Corner Café Co., Bites N’ Beveridge’s Mobile Café, and a BBQ by Rotary. There will be a ‘pink party’ with the team from Running Fit at the half way point. The pizza oven will also be in operation from 11:30am, so why not hang around and enjoy a lovely day in Sumsion Gardens.
