Watch Around Water

We can all agree that children need supervision while swimming. According to statistics reports, drowning remains one of the leading cause of unintentional death in children under five years of age. Watch around the water is a well established program that offers education, but also promotes public awareness raising program which is meant to address the growing concern regarding supervision of young children at public swimming pools. Please be mindful of our watch around the water policy which is featured below:

WATCH AROUND WATER POLICY

  • Children under 10 years of age must be accompanied into the facility by a responsible adult over the age of 16 years and actively supervised at all times while in the facility. If children are unsupervised they will be removed from the water.
  • Children under 5 yrs must be accompanied into the facility by a responsible adult over the age of 16 yrs and be supervised within arm’s reach at all times while in the facility. If children are not within arm’s reach of their parent or guardian at all times, they will be removed from the water.
  • Children ages 5 to 9 will be issued a wrist band which must be worn at all time.
